I have downloaded ur social studies Xth std guess paper 2009 from CBSE Site. I want some answers for the following questions.


1. Read the following passage and answer the given questons:-

It is said of 'passive resistance tht it is the weapon of the weak, but the power is the subject of this article can be used only by the strong. This power is not passive resistance, indeed it calls for intense activity. The movement in South Africa was not passive but active.....

'Satyagraha is not physical force...................................

1. What is the meaning of term Satyagraha?

2. Why does Gandhiji Call it a weapon for the strong?

3. How British and Eurpoean are different from the Indians? ( total 1+1+1)

II How does Bank earn? Explain ( 4 marks)

III. Write a short note in three points about the peasants movement in princely states ( 3)

ans 1-It is a nonviolent method adopted by mahatma gandhi to fight against the oppresser without using any physical force.

a)satyagraha emphasized on the power of truth and need to search for truth.it suggested that if the cause was right and struggle was against injustice then the person may not use the physical force .he shpuld appeal to consince of oppressor

ans 3 ii)banks works by mediating money amongst those who have deposited money in banks and those who are in the search of money .bank keeps the money deposited in the accounts of its customer as a fixed deposit and then the people who are in the search of money can take the loans through banks .banks provide them the loans and charge them a high interest rates .after the loan is repaid it keeps the some amount of money in customers account as annual interest and large sum of money is used by them and this is how the banks earn.
